I saw these at Anthropologie, and really liked them!! I thought about how to recreate these myself without them costing QUITE as much ;)
I went to the store and brought home seed beads, embroidery floss, and that's it!! I started with a leaf shaped piece of felt, and started out on my earring making journey. I hot glued on loops of floss.....
And hand sewed on some beads...
I did want the same effect, but with my own touch. As a finishing touch, I added some of my Grandmother's old clip on earrings to the top... that is the jewels you see.
I had been wanting to find a use for them because the backs were broken on them. I sewed on a jump ring and added the earring post and I was ready to rock my new earrings! They are kinda bling.... alot more bling than Anthro's pair, but they'll do!!
I like your version even better!

Lovely job with those earrings! Any chance you have a picture of the vintage earrings before you added them to the upcycled ones, just so us antique-hounds can admire? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
